Child labor's got to go by Laura Bueno

Dear chocoholics,

Do  you wonder how your chocolate is made? Do you want to know? Well you should. It first starts out in IVORY COAST. The IVORY COAST is a bad horrible place where children are used to harvest cocoa on cocoa farms.  People should raise their voices against this. Why is it important to raise your voice? Well, kids  are used as slaves. Someone needs to raise their  voice but, by that it means to speak up. Tell the people  what’s happening in some places of the world like Africa. It's called child labor.

What can you do? Well, first there are very few things you can do. One thing that I suggest is to buy fair trade chocolate. That means when you get chocolate you make sure child labor wasn’t a part of it. what is the  reason? Well, one reason is when you ‘’raise your voice’’ you help the children that are being used for child labor. Children always have to work and they are tricked.

Second, we can also use reverse trick or treating. what is reverse trick or treating you say? Well, reverse trick or treating is kids on Halloween when they go knock on a door and get chocolate, so the kids give fair chocolate back.  Some of the farmers don’t use  child labor . the farmers who don’t use child labor are paid more because they are letting children get an education. reverse trick or treating is trying to raise awareness.

In conclusion people can raise awareness to give a child and education and can also stop child labor. We need every support we can get.
